Executive Profile

Dhiego P. Lopes is an Ottawa-based electrical engineer, entrepreneur, and construction executive. As Partner and Director of Construction at The TGi GROUP, he leads construction operations and project delivery across the organization’s residential, commercial, and light industrial portfolio.

With fourteen years of full-time entrepreneurial and operational leadership, Dhiego has helped expand the family enterprise from its roots in stone supply and fabrication into a vertically integrated real estate development, construction, and building solutions organization.

His responsibilities span preconstruction planning, estimating, procurement, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, cost control, quality management, site operations, and project closeout. His combination of technical knowledge and business management enables him to connect strategic planning with practical construction execution.

Across Ottawa and the surrounding region, Dhiego has contributed to the delivery of full-home renovations, basement transformations, commercial showrooms, custom stone projects, and the company’s growing multi-unit residential and light industrial development pipeline.

Today, Dhiego works closely with Roldan P. Guerrero and the wider TGi leadership team to translate development strategy into clearly defined construction plans, coordinated schedules, accountable budgets, and consistent project delivery.

Construction Leadership and Project Delivery

Dhiego’s role is centred on establishing disciplined systems for delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to clearly defined standards.

He oversees the coordination of consultants, suppliers, trades, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the construction lifecycle. This includes reviewing project requirements, developing procurement and scheduling strategies, monitoring costs and progress, managing changes, and ensuring that quality expectations are maintained from preconstruction through occupancy.

His leadership also supports the continued development of The TGi GROUP’s proprietary Project Delivery System. The system is designed to create repeatable processes, stronger reporting, clearer accountability, and continuous improvement across the company’s projects.

Dhiego’s approach combines engineering analysis with practical site leadership. Every project is evaluated in relation to its schedule, cost, constructability, quality, operational requirements, and long-term value.

Engineering and Business Foundation

Dhiego holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa.His engineering education provides a technical foundation for evaluating systems, identifying risk, solving construction challenges, and making decisions based on measurable project requirements.His business education supports his leadership in financial management, organizational planning, procurement, operations, business development, and long-term company growth.

Entrepreneurial and Operational Leadership

For more than a decade, Dhiego has held full-time leadership responsibilities within The TGi GROUP and its related operations.He has helped manage the organization’s expansion across stone fabrication, custom building solutions, residential renovations, commercial construction, and real estate development. His work has included developing operational processes, coordinating teams, strengthening supplier and subcontractor relationships, and improving the connection between design, procurement, fabrication, and construction.The TGi portfolio currently associates Dhiego with completed and ongoing work in Nepean, Barrhaven, Kanata, Findlay Creek, Aylmer, and other communities across the Ottawa region.
