Guided by a 3D-rendered layout, the project was executed with precision—from framing and infrastructure to high-end finishes and lifestyle-focused amenities. Every stage was thoughtfully managed to deliver a space that feels less like a basement and more like a luxury extension of the main home.

Basement Renovation
This Barrhaven basement renovation was built from a professionally rendered 3D design, providing a clear vision for layout, finishes, and flow. Once permits were approved, construction began with framing, HVAC installation, and rough-ins for plumbing and electrical. ESA inspections were completed early, followed by soundproof insulation and full drywall installation with mudding and priming across all walls and ceilings. After passing city inspections for framing, HVAC, and plumbing, the project transitioned into finish planning—covering final electricals, material selections for tile, click-vinyl flooring, custom baseboards, shower glass framing, paint colours, and door layouts.
Finishes & Flooring
With structural elements complete, click-vinyl flooring was installed throughout the main living areas for durability and visual warmth, while tile was used in the bathroom and wet areas. Final ESA approval was received, and back framing was completed with hardware like door stops, reducers, and access panels.
Carpentry & Paint
Custom carpentry brought the basement to life with hardwood stairs, a handcrafted railing, doors, and custom cabinetry. Every surface—walls, baseboards, and trim—was coated in a carefully chosen custom paint palette, enhancing the unity and upscale feel of the space.
Fixtures & Final Details
Final touches included installing the shower glass, toilet, vanity, LED mirror, and brushed fixtures in the bathroom. All remaining hardware was completed, old carpeting was removed, and the entire space was cleaned in preparation for the final inspection.
Lifestyle Features
This renovation was designed with luxury in mind, featuring a raised-platform home theatre, wet and dry bars with custom cabinets, a glass-enclosed gym, and a dedicated sauna and steam shower—all seamlessly integrated into a spacious and functional layout that elevates everyday living in Barrhaven.
